Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Mouse DPI Checker website and its browser-based mouse DPI estimation tool.
Last updated: July 23, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access or use Mouse DPI Checker (the "Site") at https://mousedpichecker.app. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
What the Site provides
The Site provides a free browser-based tool that estimates mouse DPI from:
- a physical travel distance that you enter; and
- relative mouse movement reported by your browser while Pointer Lock is active.
The tool may request raw mouse movement where supported and may fall back to standard pointer input. It may also display movement warnings and keep a temporary history in the current page session. The Site does not provide accounts, paid plans, cloud storage, or hardware configuration services.
Estimates, not hardware certification
All DPI results are estimates. Browser support, operating-system pointer settings, acceleration, mouse polling behavior, surface quality, the distance you measure, movement technique, and other factors can affect a result. Standard-input results may be less reliable than raw-input results.
The Site does not read or change mouse firmware, onboard profiles, drivers, operating-system settings, or a manufacturer's configured DPI stages. A result is not a laboratory calibration, hardware diagnostic, warranty determination, or guarantee of gaming or application performance.
You are responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on a result and for verifying important settings with your mouse manufacturer, driver software, or appropriate measurement equipment.
Safe use
Use the tool only with a mouse, device, surface, and workspace that you can operate safely. Before starting, clear enough physical space for the selected distance and keep the mouse away from edges, cables, fragile objects, and other hazards. Stop immediately if the movement becomes unsafe or uncomfortable.
Pointer Lock temporarily hides or confines normal pointer behavior until the test finishes or you exit it. You can normally exit Pointer Lock using your browser's escape control. A parent or guardian should supervise use by a child where appropriate.
Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the Site for lawful personal, educational, or commercial evaluation purposes. You must not:
- interfere with the Site or another person's use of it;
- attempt to bypass security controls, introduce malicious code, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data;
- use automated traffic in a way that degrades availability or imposes an unreasonable load;
- misrepresent a Site estimate as a certified hardware measurement or an endorsement by a mouse manufacturer; or
- use the Site in violation of applicable law or another person's rights.
Intellectual property
The Site's software, design, text, branding, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except where a separate license expressly permits it, these Terms give you only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to access and use the Site for its intended purpose. Product names and trademarks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
Privacy and third-party services
The Privacy Policy explains how measurement data is processed locally and how infrastructure providers may handle request data. The Site may rely on or link to third-party services, including hosting and network services. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies.
Availability and changes
The Site may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Features may behave differently or be unavailable because of browser, device, permission, platform, or network limitations. No particular feature, result, uptime level, support response, or compatibility is promised.
These Terms may be revised when the Site or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be published at https://mousedpichecker.app/terms/ with an updated "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the Site after revised Terms take effect means you accept them to the extent permitted by law.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and all results are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or compatibility. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, business opportunity, or device usability arising from or related to the Site or reliance on an estimate.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law. Because the Site is provided without charge, no payment has been made for the affected service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct where such a limitation is prohibited.
Applicable law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without overriding any mandatory consumer protection or other rights that apply to you. Any dispute should first be addressed through a contact method published on the Site, if available, before formal proceedings are started.
The current Site does not publish a dedicated operator contact channel. If one is added, it will be displayed on the Site and these Terms will be updated.
